Mission:
The mission of Temple of the Twilight Goddess (TTG) is to worship the Goddess in all Her guises once a month when the moon is full, and on holy days (Sabbats) in sacred spaces (or covens), celebrating the seasons in accordance with the Wheel of the Year; to join with coven members in building a community where the practice of Wicca enriches and uplifts our lives with understanding, warmth, and meaning; to create a sacred space for all who respectfully enter herein, and to impart knowledge that has been handed down by the Elders of our Tradition (Minoan-Gardnerian Wicca) and to pass on knowledge that has been accumulated over the years through our Ancestors, our Elders, and of the High Priestesses' experiences, studies and reflections.
Purpose:
Temple of the Twilight Goddess encourages community celebrations, spiritual healing, networking and education; we seek to forge a common bond of commitment to honoring the Goddess and Nature through Wiccan ritual and celebration, even as we affirm the freedom to express these shared values in creative and individualistic ways. Temple of the Twilight Goddess aims to provide basic structure for Wiccan ritual and celebration while respecting each other's unique spiritual journey, learning from, and being enriched by, each other.
Goals:
To guide individuals (students/postulants/coven members) on their personal spiritual paths; to support personal discovery and promote individual spirituality and growth, creating a framework for the postulants' own strengths and talents; to support sustainable spiritual independence of the individual and continued growth beyond the Coven.
Group Goals:
To commune with the Divine; to celebrate and honor the Goddess and the God in their many aspects; to observe the sacred Wheel of the Year: the Sabbats and moon cycles.
Structure:
In our Tradition, it takes Three Years and a Day to complete your initial studies of the Craft. Each cycle is one year and a day, culminating in Initiation following satisfactory completion of each cycle (both HPS and postulant will come to a consensus of whether or not the postulant is ready to move on). We have non-coven public rituals for all who wish to join us.
About the Temple's Coven:
The Temple "houses" the Coven, which means that Coven members may choose to "hive off" and start new covens following their three-year period of study, while still working under the support of the Temple. While the Temple's structure is set up for this, hiving off is not required.
Coven of the Twilight Goddess is a friendly group for families, parents and family-friendly individuals in the Stamford, Connecticut area - on the traditional land of the Munsee Lenape People - who are Wiccan or exploring Wicca and who wish to study with a High Priestess of the Goddess in a traditional Gardnerian-Wiccan ritual setting. Parent-chaperoned children are welcome to attend our Sabbat rituals unless otherwise noted. Children do not attend initiation rituals. No one under the age of 18 will be initiated.
Connect with other Pagan parents, share stories, swap ideas on raising your children Pagan (although not all Coven members choose to raise their children with any one religion), celebrate the Sabbats in family-friendly settings, go on fun nature hikes and see the Goddess in action, and more.
Requirements for joining the Coven are simple: have a willingness to learn (both through our rituals and independent study), make a three-year commitment of study and celebration, and embrace maturity and respect for yourself and others.
Coven of the Twilight Goddess is a safe place for local families and individuals to meet other like-minded people and share advice and information on how we can incorporate our Pagan and Wiccan beliefs into our everyday lives.
No fees will ever be required of Coven Members and Postulants for basic rituals, although we do expect that you may bring something in pot-luck participation, such as a dish of food to share, or simple craft supplies for a ritual as needed. You will be informed ahead of time if there is anything you should bring to Circle. No one will be turned away for lack of food/supplies.
